Applying anger management to children who have uncontrolled anger can be beneficial. Anger management group intervention can provide children with the ability to develop the coping skills needed to overcome anger. According to Candelaria, Fedawa, and Ahn (2012), “the occurrence of violent behavior and bullying in schools continues to be a recognized problem among students” (p.596). Implementing a group anger management intervention will help reduce rates of bullying and violent behavior among children. Anger management interventions will help children develop appropriate coping skills that will help them manage anger and be beneficial for the future. An anger management intervention group brings this population a clear perspective on how children can manage anger by providing coping skills training. Training helps children understand that their feelings are valid. It teaches children how to express their feelings in a healthy way, which will help reduce the percentage of violent behavior (Candelaria et al., 2012).
