There are many long-term causes and effects, but there are some solutions to this problem. Some of the causes of youth unemployment were the recession that hit in 2008, young people not having the right education or no education at all and finally colleges/universities were preparing young people not qualified in the world of work. Many of these young people have received an education, but lack the skills needed to get these jobs; for example, experience and communication skills. Unemployed and educated youth miss many opportunities to gain practical work experience; this is crucial because the experience would accompany their education, making them better candidates for a job offer (Acharya-Tom Yew, 2012). Youth unemployment has long-term effects, including debt, mental, physical and emotional well-being and delayed personal situations. Young graduates spend most of their money to get the right education and find out that they are not qualified for the specific job or there are no openings. There are solutions, but not many. The government needs to invest in more programs for unemployed youth and train them for different job opportunities. They need to learn the basics
