  • Essay / Hazebullah's Political Philosophy - 1578

The political philosophy of Hezbollah, an Islamic militant group and political party, is mainly influenced by external factors. Hezbollah (Party of God) was created in 1982 during the First Lebanon War. “It arose from an anti-Israeli Shiite Muslim rebel movement and was financed by Iran and trained by the Iranian Quds Force. Hezbollah has been based in southern Lebanon since its creation and is now led by Hasan Nasrullah. (Alagha, The Change in Hezbollah Ideology, 2006). Hezbollah entered the Lebanese political scene in 1992 with the aim of taking control of Lebanon and making the people and the world believe that it was not a terrorist organization but rather a legitimate political movement. As Joseph mentioned, Hezbollah has five political ideologies, on which its goals and strategies are based (Alagha, The Shift in Hezbollah's Idealogy, 2006). The first political ideology concerns the oppressor and the oppressed. According to Hezbollah, the primary imperialist-capitalist nations are the oppressors, mainly the United States, France and “Little Satan” Israel. Hezbollah feared that these oppressors would be punished based on the status or level of their oppression, such as tyranny, injustice, exploitation, betrayal, hypocrisy, betrayal and therefore justice is what Muslim society oppressed demands from the oppressor. Hezbollah's second political ideology concerns the Islamic State. Hezbollah calls on the people of Lebanon to make a decision regarding an Islamic state, because only an Islamic state can guarantee justice, freedom and security, because only an Islamic system can deter the intervention of colonialists and imperialists in Lebanon. Hezbollah's ideology is the position...... middle of paper ...... government of Lebanon. So, even though Hezbollah was not considered a direct threat to them, they presented their military wing as a terrorist organization. The reason for their move is obvious: they simply cannot tolerate a powerful Islamic institution in close proximity to their allies. Bibliography Alagha, JE (2006). The change in Hezbollah ideology.
