    I stood paralyzed, strangers wanted to cook Christmas dinner with us and celebrate the holidays with us. I didn't know what to say even though my parents always taught me to be polite and considerate with people. This time, what my parents taught me couldn't help me. I stood there for a few seconds and felt my tongue and mouth uncontrollable. “No thanks, we don’t like having people over for Christmas.” I said. “Oh, we’re sorry for disturbing you this morning.” The family left with slumped shoulders and I stood there, paralyzed. I felt guilty and so I closed the door quietly and went into the kitchen and started taking out some eggs and many rashers of bacon. It was a family tradition to prepare this kind of breakfast on Christmas Day. However, this made me feel even more guilty because this family was poor and probably couldn't afford this kind of breakfast.
