    In today's society, there is a new desire to know what others are doing. Social media allows users to keep tabs on their followers while maintaining productivity. The effects of social media have changed the way individuals receive their information, read their magazines, and organize the information they find on the web. This has facilitated the way people receive information and challenged the way businesses are modeled. This view contributes to the study of leadership. Social media has introduced a new way of doing things. Desired results are achieved by incorporating a peer group. That’s leadership. Leadership motivates people to achieve a goal while moving an organization toward being more unified. The new processes made available by social media can also be seen as a form of leadership. Businesses are influenced and then work to create similar processes for their organization. Healthcare executives can use this perspective as an introduction to social media. Technology has become so advanced that social media can now be used to improve the doctor-patient relationship. Patients can use status updates to notify doctors of any health issues or concerns. Doctors can tag relevant health information for a patient and post it to a patient's newsfeed. Social media can allow a doctor to be more productive without ever having to leave their office. The healthcare manager's responsibilities include presenting the idea to the physician and providing the necessary training to ensure the use of these media is productive. Chapter Two The ability of social media to track people's behaviors at any time has created an era where privacy is limited. Social media also makes it easier for them to discuss their views on the care they receive and/or their views on those who have cared for them. With this type of power, patients can ruin an organization's reputation. Healthcare leaders are then responsible for ensuring that the power these patients have benefits the organization. After reading this book, I gained a new understanding of the impact social media can have. This book was easy to read, easy to understand, and had good information. Would I have chosen to read this book outside of this course? I don't believe it. However, it fits perfectly with the study of leadership. I don’t think it’s made me think differently about leadership, especially in healthcare. Overall, this book provides good information and it would be helpful to use in future courses..
