Essay / Innovations in Tang Dynasty China - 1839
Bank notes, books, and precise navigation tools have become part of many people's daily lives. However, they do not realize that these everyday objects have not always existed. Not to mention that they all appeared in the same region, around the same time, and spread along similar paths. The sailor's compass, printing, paper money, and several types of paper were all developed and used during the Tang dynasty and had a great impact on China. Knowledge of these creations was spread by groups of people and animals along the Silk Road, sub-Saharan trade routes, and the Indian Ocean. The Tang Dynasty period was a high point in Chinese history. This period lasted from 618 to 907 AD (Strayer 243). It succeeds the Sui dynasty and precedes the Song dynasty (243).
