  • Essay / Media Violence Essay - 1291

Every child wants to be a hero at some point, but is it okay for them to imitate those outrageous actions and stunts performed by their favorite characters? Looking at violent content on television, could it be possible that people's behavior is becoming more aggressive and violent? Is it possible that at some point a person becomes “desensitized” to the violence shown in the media? Young people always tend to act like their favorite character or hero and because of this, they will also follow the stunts and actions they perform. For this reason, this young person or his playmate, if applicable, risks being harmed or harmed. Now, because they're punching and kicking each other, it's also possible that their behavior changes, because they're not only imitating their hero, but they're also sort of acting like them; and therefore they will act aggressively and/or violently. As for media violence, it is not only common, it is omnipresent around us, as we see it every day of our lives. By seeing it every day, we not only become accustomed to it, but also seemingly become “desensitized” to it simply because it is common to us. However, the idea that media violence leads to reality is controversial because it has two sides, one being that it does not matter and does not affect anyone and the other being that At some point it would change the behavior. , the actions and mannerisms of a person or child. I myself believe that media violence, at a given moment, could “desensitize” a person or modify the behavior of a child. I believe this because young people tend to occasionally repeat what they see on TV or in the movies and this includes the fact that young people also act the same way as their hero or villain, for other reasons. ..... middle of paper. .....operations are carried out on the ground; American soldiers imitate the techniques they saw on television. Not only will this change a young person's behavior, but it will leave an impression on that same young person as he or she gets older. With countless studies and research carried out on this subject, it is difficult not to believe that media violence has no impact on the life of a young person, no matter how minor. Medical knowledge has shown that seeing violent content on a daily basis can cause an emotional response in the brain that has been termed “provocative stimuli” that would cause the person to act in the same way. If this is the case, it is possible that a person's response to aggression and violence will diminish or attenuate as they become essentially desensitized; their resistance to aggressive behavior would be “untamed”, which would also lead them to act violently.
