Tally is an amazing character from the book Uglies who captivates everyone's attention with her bold personality. Dr. Cable manipulated her into going to Smoke by herself, which was an act of risk-taking. Additionally, she performed many actions that required true courage as she fled special circumstances during the Smoke Invasion. Besides these positive qualities, Tally is a determined girl who will get what she wants when she puts her mind to it. Among all the characters in the book, Tally certainly stands out from the others with her exemplary character. At first, Tally was manipulated, lied to, and did everything she was told, every step of the way. was a risk taker. She knew the journey was going to be difficult (going to the Smoke), and that she would have to risk her life to become pretty. Tally took that risk and went to the Smoke alone. She had never been there before, and yet it was an ultimatum to become pretty. Only someone dedicated to becoming pretty would risk such serious consequences. Tally was taking risks because she didn't know if she was going to survive or if she would even become pretty by going to the Smoke, but she did and she put her life in danger. Not to mention she took these risks by being manipulated by Dr. Cable. Although most of Tally's risks occurred at the Smoke or during the trip, those weren't the only times. David took major risks during the Smoke invasion, but Tally took risks throughout the beginning, middle, and end of the story. Throughout the book, Tally was going on adventures in the rusty ruins of New Pretty Town and she even went to the Smoke with only a piece of paper to help her. On the other hand...... middle of paper...... it came deep in her heart, she wanted to be normal, she wanted to live with Peris and be happy for the rest of her life, she was determined to make her wish come true. No matter what obstacles came in her way, Tally never gave up during the journey to the Smoke. Tally was almost killed in a fire, she almost froze in a river, and yet it didn't matter to her. She was determined to become pretty and she didn't care about the hardships she had to go through. To conclude, Tally was, in her own way, an extraordinary character. She took incredible risks, she made a courageous decision that put her life in danger, and she was determined to make it all work throughout the book. Tally was one of the few characters in the book who made you feel pain, love, betrayal, and many other emotions all at once. Tally Youngblood was the shining star of the book Uglies, and it was well deserved.
