This is done in different ways; for example, creating low-friction opportunities, minimizing perceptual differences, and providing multiple ways to stay connected with others. Despite the erosion of disparities, social media cannot entirely replace face-to-face interaction, but it can complement it. I recognize that not everyone enjoys the benefits that I enjoy. Regardless, I believe social media has become a platform to connect across distances, time zones and busy schedules – for the majority of its users.
