  • Essay / The Meaning of Divine Command Theory - 808

In this article, I will introduce the divine command theory by explaining its meaning and the argument behind it. This theory will be explained and developed with my understanding to support the argument at hand. He gives my thoughts on the objection made to the divine command theory and I will show the objection made to the best of my knowledge to the criticism/objection. The critique gives a view on the theory that is very strong and difficult to object to, but I will explain how it will be invalid. By the end of this article, what divine command theory describes will become clear. My point of view will be presented. Divine command theory is exactly what God allows or forbids to happen before moral action can be determined. The theory says that whatever God says is good and evil is actually good and evil. This means that God defines morality and decides what is right and wrong. Moral actions are determined after and only after God has decided whether it is something permissible and only so. Morality is given by God. If specifically God says a certain action is wrong, then it would be morally wrong overall. A bad action only equals a bad consequence, regardless of the situation. Only if there is actual evidence that God permits it will the result be morally good. This would only be morally correct if the action was right and had good consequences in terms of outcome. God telling us to do such things is obviously for a very good reason, for our own good; he would not want to harm us since he loves us. The objection to the divine command theory says that if God had permitted the torture of innocent children in the world, it would make it more... ... middle of paper ...... I'm not went there to help them. We are very busy reading and writing this article. Alistar Begg once said: “The heart of the human problem is the human heart. » This means that only we are really the problem. You see, there are only two options, one is that God requires us to love Him and do good. Which wouldn't make it good at all; It would rather be a cosmic rapist. Or the second option; He gives us the free choice to love Him and do what we think is right. We make the choice. In conclusion, this argument over the objection is something that will not be resolved in any way, it goes on deep but an actual conclusion and specific final argument is not possible. This showed exactly how I explained my position. The Divine Theory has been explained in its entirety. An argument has been given and explained on the criticism leveled for the divine command theory..
