  • Essay / Georgia O Keeeffe Controversy - 1627

Although critics all had opinions on what her works symbolized, the press she received helped boost O'Keeffe's fame. The constant attention to symbolism in O'Keeffe's works has kept her in the spotlight since the 1920s. Each person is shaped and molded by the experiences they encounter; reviews are no different. Therefore, when reading a review, a novel, etc., one must consider the period in which it was written. Overall, the four perspectives presented in this essay have enriched my knowledge of O'Keeffe. These four people taught me to really scrutinize everything I read and think about not only why the author wrote it, but also when they wrote it.
