  • Essay / Growth rate and development of boys and girls - 1050

IntroductionOver the years, boys and girls grow at a constant rate, considered “normal”. Many factors influence a child's height, such as gender, genetics, nutrition, physical activity, current health issues, etc. Obviously, "normal" growth is not an exact approximation of a child's growth, but explains what factors influence a normal growth rate. These factors include a healthy diet, exercise and enough sleep. If a child remains active in these three factors, he or she will likely grow at a normal rate. Eventually, puberty catches up with boys and girls. During this time their bodies change and they will grow a little more before stopping growing. A girl will reach adulthood around age 15 or 16, depending on when puberty begins. So it may be later, because it is said that a girl stops growing when she reaches the age of 18 (which is not always true). One thing that can be noticed is that at a younger age, girls seem to be a little taller than men. However, as a male ages, between 12 and 15 years old, he grows the most rapidly. It is said that boys grow up to the age of 21, which is to say much more slowly. With current information, it is not very difficult to determine why most men are taller than girls. Essentially, genetics can play a very useful and important role in determining a person's growth. If a boy or girl has short parents, they will probably be short too. The reverse is also possible. If one parent is tall and the other short, it can be somewhat difficult to tell whether the child is short or tall unless additional information can be observed, such as genetics. Overall, going to a doctor to determine if... .. middle of paper ...... people become moody and sensitive about what others might think of them. Over the years, they will adapt to the changes on their path to becoming adults. Sensory and motor development concerns girls and boys aged 10 to 14. During these ages, they are a little self-conscious because they have not completely adapted to their body. Development is obviously an important part of human life and there are many types of development. Through research, we have found that physical growth occurs quickly and at a steady pace. The result could, however, make men taller and more physically capable. When it comes to psychological development, men and women progress at different levels. Boys and girls must go through the same stages of development; the places where they reach these stages of development differ but ultimately they achieve almost the same result.
