Essay / The Truth About Monsoons in India - 1111
Monsoons are seasonal weather conditions that occur in certain parts of the world and have an incredible impact on the lives of residents. The best known monsoons are those which occur in South Asia, and particularly in India. They have many effects on communities and the ecosystem, both positive and negative. These effects can range from killing hundreds of people to keeping them alive, and can occur at the same time. Monsoons are a vital part of South Asia, and you can't change it unless you're armed with a planet full of greenhouse gases (and even that can only go so far as to affect the strength of the monsoon). Most people have a basic knowledge of the monsoons, a basic knowledge that is most often inaccurate. Monsoons do not consist of torrential downpours, but rather air currents that have the side effect of depositing moist, cold air onto the land. This then deposits its moisture in the form of torrential downpours. This cool, humid air is generated by the Indian Ocean. To better understand, take a step back. In India (or any other place where monsoons occur), there are very hot summers which then warm the ground and the air above the ground. The air above the ground is very warm and dries out almost completely. It's the dry season and it's not a pleasant time of year for any creature or plant. However, there is a huge amount of cooler, more humid air above the ocean. This air stays that way because the top of the ocean can be heated and evaporated, causing humidity. But the rest of the ocean remains cold. Think of it like trying to heat an icy swimming pool with a candle. This cold is absorbed (for lack of a better word) middle of paper......ad (as mentioned before), but they are using more and more modern techniques. There are government-run programs that help isolated farmers let plants grow in a certain way and create terraces and small dams to retain monsoon water and force it into the ground instead of flow and get lost in the nearest river. Using these methods, enormous quantities of water can be captured: on the first day of the monsoon season, up to 30 cm of rain can fall! Monsoons have incredible impacts on the Indian population. Indian farmers spend their lives hoping that the monsoons will not choose to arrive at an inopportune time. They can kill you, keep you alive, or bankrupt you. It all depends on when they arrive and how intense they are. They are an integral part of India and everyone knows it. It is difficult to imagine what India would look like without monsoons..
