Essay / How is solar energy converted into electricity?
IntroductionIn fact, thanks to solar cells, we can directly transform sunlight into electricity. Every day, sunlight hits your roof's solar panels with photons (particles of sunlight). These photons are converted by a solar panel into direct current (DC) electricity electrons. The electrons flow out of the solar panel and into an inverter and other electrical safety devices. The function of an inverter is to convert “DC” power (commonly used in batteries) into alternating current or “AC” power. Alternating current is a type of electrical energy that computers, televisions, and toasters use when plugged into a wall outlet. Solar energy is one of the most important energies in the world because it is completely free, widely available, produces no pollution, no emissions, no noise and no carbon footprint. so we should use this energy as much as possible to avoid the effect of other energies. The solar energy systems used on our roof produce energy directly from sunlight. Each solar cell in the panels converts sunlight directly into electricity. In fact, many factors affect how cells achieve this. How is solar energy converted into electricity? Solar cells are made of a mixture of silicon and other elements such that there are extra electrons in one part of the solar cell. and the missing electrons in the other part of the solar cell. When sunlight hits these cells, the extra electrons break away from the silicon due to the photons present in the light, and they will flow to the part of the missing electrons. This flow of electrons will produce an electrical current that eventually reaches the inverter, where it is converted into usable electricity. Power generation from solar energy, which affects many factors and the most fundamental factors, is the orientation of the cell. In the northern half of the Earth, the best results in converting solar energy into electricity can be achieved when cells facing south, as well as when cells facing east or west, can still produce energy, but for a shorter period of time. Some systems use trackers that turn solar cells toward the sun. directly as it moves across the sky, the amount of electricity produced will increase. However, this introduces more complicated moving parts into the system that require more maintenance and repair from time to time. Nowadays, many people enable work through solar energy because of these benefits. :
