  • Essay / Tanning Problems - 1737

People all over the world have always tanned. Over the past decade, indoor tanning has become much more popular, especially among teenage girls and young women. More and more tanning salons have been built and there are more tanning businesses than ever. Of course, natural tanning is still as popular as ever. What some people don't realize are the real effects of tanning. This can cause many medical problems. Instead of tanning, people should think about the dangers they are putting their bodies through and why they are tanning in the first place. Although there are some benefits to the sun, too much sun can be disastrous and detrimental to health. Most people know it's bad for them, but they continue to do it anyway. Tanning poses many problems. For example, it can cause skin cancer, harm people's health, cost money and accelerate the aging process. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, tanning can cause many forms of skin cancer, some of which can be fatal. The two main types of skin cancer are melanoma and non-melanoma. Melanoma is much more dangerous than non-melanoma. If it is not detected early enough, it can be fatal. Non-melanomas are benign. People should be careful if skin cancer is dominant in previous generations of their family, as they are more likely to inherit it. Skin cancer is caused by overexposure to ultraviolet rays. This causes skin cells to grow abnormally, which then causes melanomas or non-melanomas. It can also weaken the immune system, which can no longer help fight different cancer cells. If skin cancer is detected, it can be treated. Some symptoms are changes to the surface of the skin, like size and middle of the paper......gh they may like the way their skin is tanned now, in the future it could cost large sums money to repair or irreparable damage to their skin. Tanning is not justifiable in the long term. If people take the time to protect their skin, it will benefit them immensely.
