Hamlet is a paradox; he is a confusing character who, throughout the play, has more to show. Hamlet is a person of contradictions, curious and deep but indecisive. Hamlet's experiences led to dramatic changes in his character. At the beginning, we meet a young man who is grieving the death of his father and struggling with his mother's sudden marriage to his uncle. Hamlet is faced with the dilemma of wanting to avenge his father's death and suppressing his intense emotions in order to come up with a plan. Hamlet's wit and wordplay deceive everyone. He appears to be a philosophical and existential being with a certain interest in the meaning of life. Many may see him as the tragic hero fighting against a superior force. This image of a tragic hero seems to be just a facade. While there may be many reasons why he may appear to be a tragic hero, he is corrupted by those around him who make him evil. Hamlet's soul becomes corrupted from the beginning with his mother's sudden marriage to his uncle, the man who killed his father. . His depression is much deeper than everyone believed. Hamlet tries to explain to his mother and Claudius that his grief runs deeper and is more than the appearance of someone crying. His mother seems cold rather than understanding, she tells him to get rid of the black clothes and move on: “You know it's common. Everything that lives must die passing through nature until eternity. (1.2.74-75) Claudius is also callous and says that he is doing too much and advises him to stop his "unmanly sorrow." (1.2.98) This led to the physical and mental corruption that Hamlet faces. He contemplates suicide. The suicides as well as the murders are against Hamlet's religious beliefs and are in the middle of the newspapers...horribly and degraded her saying she was unfit and promiscuous. The confused relationship she had with Hamlet and the death of her father drove Ophelia to madness and soon after to suicide. He was the cause of the murder, it was the deterioration of his character and we see this when he confesses his love for Ophelia at her funeral that it is too late. Hamlet begins what can be considered a tragic hero but his fear and overthinking led him to be influenced by the corruption that surrounded him, he was neither strong nor blessed with characteristics that placed him above the average. In every situation he found himself in, he reacted like a normal person rather than a hero. All of his actions were flawed because of his problem with those around him, allowing the malice of others to grow within him, changing him completely. His death was inevitable, it was an accumulation of his mistakes.
