    A leader in any tale is an exceptional figure, whether good or evil, he also displays enormous strength in above all others, whether physical, emotional or mental. Their qualities instill in them a respect that all their subjects realize and respect. The role of leader is usually first assigned to a different character, and by the end of their journey, the main character usually becomes the leader or a figure who has the potential to lead others. The leader is usually a well-known and revered figure, regardless of who they are. alone, figuratively and physically. Beowulf written by an anonymous poet features several characters that the reader can identify as leaders, including one who appears in the first five lines of the text. Shielf Sheafson, described as the scourge of many tribes, becomes the first Cyng of the Danes. In Sir Gawain the Green Knight, also written by an unknown author, features many leaders, the greatest of whom was King Arthur, soon followed by Sir Gawain and the rest of the Knights of the Round Table. Sir Gawain's trial is actually a journey to test his ruling daughters. In the end, he realizes his mistake and becomes the leader he should be. Finally, Paradise Lost written by John Milton features two leaders, Lucifer and God, although each relies on both ends of the section to describe the bodily characteristics of a leader. The figure of the leader over time exhibits many of the same traits. Every leader carries with them a particular set of characteristics that make them a leader, usually by sacrificing something. There is also a feeling of awe, omnipotence and solitude. Each work imbues these qualities into its leaders, to place them above all others and show the ideal main character, perhaps with the aim of showing readers how they themselves must behave if they wish to stand a chance to become as big as these characters..
