  • Essay / Fitness and Wellness Coordinator Essay - 1018

The Bachelor's degree in Health and Wellness opens up a number of opportunities for me in my professional future. The opportunity I would be most interested in right now is for a Fitness and Wellness Coordinator. A fitness and wellness coordinator has a multitude of tasks they will need to complete each day, from supervising other instructors to organizing and supervising fitness and wellness programs. This could also include managing outreach activities, teaching courses in an area of specialty, or even training employees in environmental awareness or safety topics. Some health and wellness professionals even run their own businesses and work directly with the client to help them navigate health care. While there are many pieces of fitness equipment that these professionals need to know about, such as: resistance machines, cardio machines, free weights or assessment machines. This equipment should be inspected daily as the client uses it for prescribed exercise programs. The professional will also need to have a good understanding of exercises that do not include fitness equipment such as yoga and palates. The professional will use much of the equipment and knowledge of the different exercises to help the people they work with achieve their physical goals. Nutrition also represents an important part of this profession. Exercise alone does not help the client achieve their health care goals. A wellness coordinator would also help their client organize meal plans that fit their lifestyle and dietary choices. This can be very difficult for a coordinator because there are many different tastes to satisfy. The Bachelor of Health and Wellness should also prepare you to manage this effectively by providing you with more knowledge about herbs and vitamins to help complete the program. This week I'm working on my resume with Kaplan University Career Services so I can move into a position that's a better fit for me. why I'm going to college. I give it to our local health food store, nutritionist's office, as well as local gyms. I believe that if I continue to dedicate myself to my studies and work to be the best professional I can be; that in five years I will have a bachelor's degree in health and wellness. From what I can find, there are currently no strict guidelines on the training needed to become a fitness and wellness coordinator; therefore, my degree should help me get my foot in the door, even if it's an entry-level position. The field of health and well-being interests me a lot. I am very sociable and I like to help people. The role of Fitness and Wellness Coordinator involves many tasks. Staying busy is very important to me and the extra workload will be appreciated. I have already learned many skills through my professional experience and I am also sure that Kaplan University will help me hone these skills. The anticipated growth for this position is good and I am excited to continue learning and continue this path toward my bachelor's degree.’
