  • Essay / Positive Thinking Essay - 736

Almost all my friends were planning to go. I wanted to go with them too, but my parents wouldn't let me go because we were supposed to go visit my grandfather's house for a family event. I was so upset that I closed my door and didn't speak to them for the rest of the day. Later, after a few days, when I wasn't so distressed, my mother explained to me that maybe it was for my own good. Maybe I'll appreciate it more in my grandfather, and I did. However, I always tried to think about what my friends should be doing at that moment, what would I do if I was with them. When my friends came back from their vacation, they told me that it was raining most of the time and a lot of people were getting sick because of the bad weather and the food. At that moment, I realized that everything my mother said was true: if I had gone on a trekking vacation, I would have gotten sick too. I went home and apologized for my rude behavior and learned that positive thinking can take up a lot of my time.
