In 1898, HG Wells wrote "The War of the Worlds", a novel which envisaged the destruction of a large city and the massacre of its residents. . The invaders were Martians, but aliens were not needed to make this devastation a reality. A few years after the book was published, human beings would play the role of inhuman plunder as they became aware of the war and its effects on society. There has never been a war where no one was killed. Since the beginning, man has always been engaged in hostilities. Suffering and loss have become part of everyday life for those on the front lines. Soldiers are reduced to expendable objects and the loss of dignity is present in every soul. Nothing can replace the suffering caused by war. How can we understand the horrors of war? Is it madness or purification? A glorious enterprise? War is a howling, roaring creature, using its power to unleash destructive and fatal consequences among the masses.
