TS Elliot's "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" may effortlessly be one of the most complex poems in history. The authors' rhymes and word choice can be confusing but nonetheless brilliant, making you wonder about the true meaning of this so-called "love song." The poem embarks on the journey of a middle-aged man, J. Alfred Prufrock, who seeks a change in his seemingly boring life. He recognizes his insecurities and the things that keep him from being truly free, but there's something he doesn't really know. This is what he really wants and desires in life. The second narrative style is stream of consciousness. Stream of consciousness is the constant flow of thoughts and feelings passing through a person's mind. The poem captures this by focusing on Prufrock's thoughts and feelings. For example, in the poem he goes to meet a woman for tea and thinks about the question he is going to ask her.
