Have you ever looked in the mirror, posed and said WOW! I am so Beyoncé. Or wondering what Brad Pitt would eat for breakfast? Or wonder if Miley Cyrus could ever afford decent clothes? Celebrities have become such a central fixation in our lives that we often forget to live ours. We idolize them, follow their every move, and treat them like modern-day demigods. (PAUSE) Fame has become synonymous with cynosure. And no cynicism doesn't mean an attention-seeking hotshot willing to do anything to become famous. He is a person who becomes the center of our admiration and attention because of his genius. Is it just me or did the thesaurus get it wrong? Our modern obsession with celebrities raises the question between respect for genius and talent and a superficial fascination that is a sign of the degeneration of our society. Why do these particular people receive so much attention? They can be either entertaining or culturally significant.
