I have noticed how we use our money and noticed that pennies are not taken seriously. I realized while waiting in line to check out that people preferred to use dollar bills rather than the piggy bank of coins they had, not only because of their limited usefulness, e.g. are generally not accepted in vending machines and bulk vending machines, but also because the act of producing the penny costs more than the penny itself. So I ask myself: “Why use coins?” Should they be eliminated?
