Essay / The Benefits of Technology - 833
As one Saint Francis University student wrote: “Tech-free days (have) improved my social interactions. I engage in more conversations with my friends and girls in my dorm than just sitting in the room talking via IM and text. Talking face-to-face with people is more personal than just instant messaging and texting” (Foley-DeFiore, 2010, p. 1). So my sister and I would benefit from a break from technology because it would push us to talk rather than email or text. So, without the interference of technology, being with friends and family is a special time with the people right in front.
