In an article by Ashman & Elkins (2008) on inclusive education, they discuss the progression of inclusive education as being underpinned by the school's responsibility to function as a "supportive and cooperative entity where rights of each member of the community are recognized and respected. Collaborating with the wider community provides educators with a range of opportunities to further develop their students in a style that suits each individual. This thought piece focuses on the importance of collaboration within the educational community and the positive outcomes that can result from it. This will be supported by texts and journal articles.
