  • Essay / Fighting the threat of waste

An environment is the green space that surrounds us as living beings. We should always keep it clean and pollution-free in order to live a healthy and peaceful life. However, environmental problems have become a threat to the environment and those who live in it. Yes, the planet is our home, but people are not the only inhabitants; unfortunately, they often forget this point. In most cases, environmental problems are caused by harmful human activities on the biophysical environment. The waste problem contributes greatly to environmental degradation and poses a threat to the future of our planet. Say no to plagiarism. This is waste that has been disposed of inappropriately, without consent. This includes waste such as paper, gum, cans and bottles left in an open or public place. Cigarette butts are among the most common objects in my community and other townships. Litter can come from a variety of sources, including intentional litter from motorists throwing their trash out of windows, pedestrians throwing their trash in the street or on footpaths, or people leaving their trash behind at public events. Additionally, waste tarnishes the image of communities and sends a message of apathy toward environmental management. To address the waste problem in my community, I have launched several initiatives to raise awareness and promote responsible waste management practices. As a resident of Kagiso Extension 13 and with the support of my community, I organized educational sessions at my grandparents' church to raise awareness among community members, especially the youth, about the harmful effects of litter on the environment. By engaging with the community and raising awareness of the consequences of littering, we sought to instill a sense of responsibility and encourage behavioral change among.
