    For my final, I selected Omer Fast - CNN Concatenated and Gary Hill - Incidence of Catastrophe from the videos shown in class this semester. The experience gained from watching the Fast & Hill videos was very interesting in the way memory was mediated. Both of these videos use personal memory and reminiscence, but both are far apart in the way memory is conceived in their work. Below I will give my perspective on how each video artist applied their memory problem. In CNN Concatenated, Fast creates a monologue in a collage of different reporters used to tell something they wouldn't normally read on a teleprompter. The video is edited precisely by mixing each journalist word for word to deliver a message. A thought-provoking and captivating message when the opening statement begins with “Listen to me. I want to tell you something. Getting closer." I noticed that all the images and captions on CNN suggest it was after the 9/11 attacks. It showed footage of the World Trade Center, a map of Afghanistan, the captions where The Hunt for Bin Laden, Homeland Security...
