The Arab-Israeli conflict is one of the major dilemmas of modern world history. Many political leaders believe it is the world's most complicated conflict, even more serious than the Cold War. During the 1960s and 1970s, the Arab world decided to resort to confrontation and fight fire with fire. The Middle East has become a war zone where all Arab countries have lined up to reconquer Palestine. However, the Israeli cabinet was smart enough to maintain its presence on Palestinian land. The Arab-Israeli conflict had a huge impact on Arab countries, some greater than others, but all Arab countries were affected, even if not all Arab countries were directly involved in the conflict. The conflict has affected every Arab country in some way; however, they were all negatively impacted. Whether it is a defeat in a war, as is the case with Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Jordan; or face a large number of Palestinian refugees, as happened with Lebanon; or be psychologically affected by the loss of Palestine, like what happened in Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria. The Arab-Israeli War began in late 1926, when Britain and its allies managed to defeat the Ottoman Empire in World War I. took control of many parts of the Ottoman Empire, including Palestine. After promising the Arabs a national state, where all Arabs could unite and live together, they withdrew their promises by offering the Jewish people a homeland in Palestine, the Holy Land. This was announced in the Balfour Declaration in November 1917 by the British Empire. The statement was authored by the Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom, Arthur James Balfour.
