  • Essay / A Brief History of Estonia - 948

Estonia awoke to the early colonization of her people and she traveled with them until she was later found by a visiting man the borders of his country. He gave her the name Aestii. This man, she later learned, was Tacitus, a Roman historian. After she was given that name, Estonia snuck around and looked for people like her - those who didn't age, as Tacitus had mentioned, meeting some like her. Before the Vikings started invading, she managed to find and befriend Finland, and much later, after an incident, Hungary. When the Viking raids began, Estonia chose to move away from the home they had built and live further from the Vikings' reach. invaders, at the request of Hallar and Anu, a couple with whom she was friends. Of course, that doesn't mean much because she was visited by Denmark and Prussia who came to "Christianize" her. Estonia fought with all its might, but in the end it was taken over by the Danes, and partly by the Teutonic Knights, where it was forced to learn Christian teachings. She hated almost every moment because this new faith made no sense to her. She never really took a liking to it. Estonia lived with Denmark before Prussia came and took her to live with the Teutonic Knights and Livonia, which is said to be related to her, but she doesn't care. Most days her days were spent arguing and arguing until she was sent to a room. It was during this time that she got used to being alone and reading/listening to stories. It was also around this time that Estonia began to consider running away and hiding in the wilderness until they could control their own nation. After a while, Estonia began to feel tightness and burning around its skin while its country was in the middle of paper...... This required a lot of movement on the part of its people, during many years, but finally in 1988, its people declared their sovereignty and Estonia slipped out of Russian territory to participate in the "Baltic Channel" and the Singing Revolution. In 1990, she faced Russia once again as her people revolted and began the transition to an independent state. This did not end Russia's involvement in his politics and for a year the KGB invaded his home and wreaked havoc until the night of August 1991 when the Soviet government surrendered. collapsed, leading to complete independence, almost literally overnight. That's when Estonia started to feel the weight lift off his back. Although it wasn't until the Russian armed forces withdrew that she finally breathed a breath of fresh air, it was still nice to begin the process of learning to live again.Works Citeden.wikipedia.org /wiki/estonia
