Martin Luther King was a drum major for justice, for peace, for freedom and equality. Many think that leaders are made, I disagree. Dr. King was born a leader, and he used his leadership skills, abilities, and power to accomplish great things, even though he was also considered a controversial leader. How will you use the power you gain? Are you going to make a difference or are you just going to comply. “Let us look at ourselves calmly and honestly, and we will discover that we too have these same fundamental desires for recognition, for importance... We all want to be important, to surpass others, to distinguish ourselves, to lead the parade... It is a good instinct if you do not distort or pervert it. Don't give up. Continue to feel the need to be important. Continue to feel the need to be first. But I want you to be the first lover. I want you to be first in moral excellence.
