The Effect of Childhood Sexual Abuse on AdulthoodThe effects of childhood sexual abuse last forever in children. To what extent and what effects does abuse have on children as adults? What are the main problems that adult victims of violence suffer from in adulthood? Do they have more physical problems relating to their partner in the bedroom or do they have more mental blocks due to their trauma? The world has been asking these questions for far too long and we need answers on how to help the children of our world. The questions that were asked were answered in the two articles which will be summarized below. Summary of Scientific Article There have been a large number of studies that have compared adults who have been sexually abused as well as adults who have not and how they differed. What about the effects of child abuse on adults? The purpose of this study is to attempt to identify the effects that psychosexual functioning in adults has on sexually abused children. In this study, we took a closer look at how childhood sexual abuse events affected psychosexual, emotional, behavioral, and evaluative functioning after childhood. This article examines the effect that childhood sexual abuse can have on an adult. It compares the different effects if the child tells someone when the attack happens or if they don't, what the long-term effects might be. The questionnaire aimed to determine what effects child abuse had on 165 different adults: fear of sex and guilt during sex, problems with physical contact, sexual arousal and sexual satisfaction. We must first determine the characteristics of adults. They looked for and determined characteristics like age... middle of paper ...... one side of the story when it comes to the effects of abuse on children. There is so much else we don't understand about the ramifications that we should be aware of. None of these studies show both sides of the issue, but combined they give a better overall picture of both sides. In conclusion, I think both articles were well written and got their message across.
