Essay / Accepting the feeling of power over someone: intimidation
It’s messed up! There has been a problem within this society that has affected many children, even adults. This problem can simply ruin a person's reason for living. Bullying is what affects millions and millions of lives. Bullying is a serious topic to discuss because some people cannot live a normal life. Some people think that bullying is okay and not a big deal. On the other hand, people who are bullied see it as a reason not to live or simply give up. This is the physical or verbal contact that the bully inflicts on them. So there should be a sanction or law against bullying. No one should be afraid or shy around someone who thinks they are more dominant. School districts are supposed to make students feel comfortable and not interfere with their rights (Edmondson and Zeaman 33). Any law should protect the rights of students (Edmondson and Zeaman 33). By including students in a conflict, adults tend to have more respect for them. Saying that students should feel that a school is their second home, schools should treat it with more respect. The Centers for Disease and Prevention and Olweus at Edmondson and Zeaman explain how laws should make a difference when it comes to bullying (4). Others say the laws show no change and are useless (Edmondson and Zeaman 4). People argue that you have to stand up and make a difference for someone who is a victim of the life of a bully. On the opposing side, they say that it doesn't change anything because in the end, everything stays the same. Overall, what everyone supports is that students feel comfortable and not afraid of those who feel more dominant. Equality should be in the middle of every paper......looking through the research that bullies tend to bully others simply to look cool, to feel better about themselves or just to get the feeling of dominating others.
