The Business of Football in AmericaFootball (soccer) is considered the most popular sport in the world, the United States is one of the few countries where football does not is not the main sport. The beautiful game is a game of passion; fans come together to form a “religion,” but all the fun and excitement comes down to money. The football sector generates significant revenue from ticket betting, television and jersey sponsorship and transfer deals. It can be said that it is the richest sport in the world. Here in America we are late boomers in the soccer craze, which is why our league is not as strong as others like Barclays Premier League, LA LIGA, Ligue 1, Bundesliga , Serie A, etc. In 1996, MLS was founded. and the association was not favorably received by the general public. Over time, more and more Americans have become more accepting and interested in the sport. Major League Soccer and the United States Soccer Association (USSA) have since struggled to generate revenue due to numerous issues. Looking at these many issues I remember a time when my uncle told me football was a good business, there is so much wealth to be exploited if done correctly. The poor transfer system makes it difficult for players based in Europe to move to the United States. Average players like Kaka tried to join clubs like Los Angeles and couldn't get a deal done because we have an Americanized sports version of the salary cap, to make everything fair. In life and sports “Survival of the fittest”, then why create an artificial environment contrary to nature?
