    You may be wondering: What is euthanasia? Euthanasia is the painless killing of a patient suffering from an incurable and painful illness or in an irreversible coma. This practice is illegal in most countries. Countries where euthanasia or assisted suicide is legal include the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Estonia, Albania and the US states of Washington, Oregon and Montana. Euthanasia is classified in different ways, including voluntary, non-voluntary, or involuntary. Voluntary euthanasia is legal in some countries and US states. Non-voluntary euthanasia is illegal in all countries. Involuntary euthanasia is generally considered murder. There are three main arguments involved in euthanasia: the religious argument, the medical ethics argument, and the alternative argument. The most common religious argument is that human beings are God's sacred creation, therefore human life is by extension sacred.
