    The Effects of Fear on Society Population economics is, in its simplest form, the study of the distribution of resources. As demographic and environmental factors change, the delicate balance between supply and demand shifts. This shift in resource distribution is generally a slow process, as rising fertility rates or environmental waste, decade after decade, creates a greater imbalance between what is available for consumption and what is necessary for survival. . However, sudden and unexpected events sometimes occur and considerably disrupt the environmental balance. This was the case on September 11. That morning, a hijacked plane collided with one of the two towers that make up the World Trade Center. Fifteen minutes later, another carrier full of civilians crashed into the second. The ripple effects of these horrific events are felt in every segment of our lives. Above all, the second innocent human being was used as a torpedo to kill thousands of other unassuming victims, giving rise to a new global sense of fear and insecurity. This fear has caused consumers to refrain from spending, tourists to think twice before traveling, governments to consider ways to encourage such economic activity and, in fact, thousands of Afghans to flee for save their lives.
