The word fashion trends means a change in clothing style. The first fashion capital of the world was Paris, France. The “Belle Epoque” was the very first fashion trend. In the early 20th century, women had a conservative figure and focused on their figure. A new style was born in the Roaring Twenties and marked the beginning of modern fashion. Denim blue jeans, off-the-shoulder tops and skirts categorized into mini, midi and maxi lengths have become fashionable. Around this time, fitted clothes, larger jeans, shorter and fitted tops became fashionable. “The last decade of the 20th century was also known for gothic styles and women dressed in black” (Kichura 1). Women in the 21st century have returned to practical clothing. This decade, women prefer to wear casual clothes rather than formal outfits, except for going to church, business functions and special events.
