I try to eat healthy and buy fresh produce. I am aware that there are many chemicals found in fruits and vegetables, even in the meat we buy. These are all factors that influence my grocery shopping. I admit that I don't buy entirely organic, but that is also strongly linked to cost. Organic products cost much more than non-organic products. I try to find sales and stick to organic and hormone-free products as often as possible. I believe that most chemicals used to mass produce and produce faster crops are not only harmful to ourselves, but also cannot be good when released into the environment. Many pesticides used will end up in groundwater and from there it's anyone's guess. Having these chemicals go deep underground cannot be a good thing. We also need to ask ourselves where these chemicals will end up and how it may affect us. I also always hear that organic is better because it is better to support local farmers rather than big companies that help protect the environment.
