  • Essay / World Hunger Essay - 1354

With the many problems we face today when it comes to world hunger, technology has become the number one reliable resource because by 2050, the population expected to reach at least 9.7 billion people (new plant growth technology could mitigate climate change, food shortage 2016). Although we will always face world hunger, technology has and will only help reduce the hunger rates we face today (food shortages 2014). Not only does technology help in agricultural production, but it also helps in many ways, such as: harvest rate, amount of watering of plants and soil, and even whether the crops may present be symptoms of a disease (The Role Of Farming 2014). The main goal of data farming is to capture and examine aggregate and unexpected results. Data farming is a new form of technology used to experiment with different crops and it helps in research trying to develop crops that can withstand the heat and different problems that crops face. Through data farming, the integration of so many technologies and research, it has helped a lot in being able to have greater agricultural production and ultimately defeat world hunger (Summary of the data agriculture 2016). With all the new technologies continuing to develop, GMOs have had a huge impact on producing more crops with the same amount of land. With GMOs, this will only help save lives for those who struggle to produce enough.
