Essay / The Key to Success in Life - 1137
The famous spiritual leader and philosopher Swami Vivekananda, once said that the path to success is to “Take up an idea. Make that idea your life – think about it, dream of it, live by this idea. Let the brain, the muscles, the nerves, every part of your body, be filled with this idea and leave all other ideas aside. For me, this quote embodies what is needed. To succeed Just like a marathon, the goal is not to get to first place and win but simply to finish and to do that you have to want to keep going, the pace at which you do it doesn't matter. It matters as long as you finish. Success doesn't have a precise definition, like love, it has many different meanings and applies to different things to different people. Although society has its own claims about what it means. what success can look and feel like, the path to success cannot be written in theories and statistics. Whether your meaning of success is money, happiness, or other personal gain, you have to work for it. Personally, I can say that there is no specific key to success but many keys to achieving it. It is said that "it's not always the destination but the journey that was worth it", success should be measured by the amount of dedication, determination and passion put in to make it real. Outliers: the Story of Success, written by Malcolm Gladwell, explains that perhaps there are specific formulas and scenarios that one can follow and, in turn, achieve success. For example, in the book The Outliers, the author describes what is called the 10,000 hour rule, which states that "in fact, researchers [who] have decided on what they believe to be the magic number for a true expertise: ten thousand hours.” To me it comes down to saying that only when someone has practiced something... middle of paper ... thus making our ideas of success very different. Personally, being happy with what you have done is success, making money where you are comfortable is success, having a family that you are proud of and love is success in itself and being happy what you surround yourself with is a success. . The idea that each person has of it embodies who they are and how they perceive themselves. My only hope of success is that I never stop feeling this extreme hunger for it. To be successful you have to want it and dedicate yourself to that single goal without hesitation, you have to be determined in your mind, body and soul and you really have to have the passion so that in the end you are happy with it. In my eyes, success is not something you can touch and feel like money, it is in other words intangible, it is something that warms your heart and fuels your fire for personal greatness..
