Midterm Self-Assessment Essay As this semester has begun and I have begun to adjust to the demands, expectations, and objectives of this course, I found myself taking more risks and questioning my previous writing style. . I've been a little worried with my writing style this semester and I feel like sometimes I'm missing all the ideas in the topic. Even if I do the work and get a good grade, I still feel uncertain before posting a blog or handing in my final assignment. Although the topic of the course as a whole is not foreign to me, it became a challenge for me to write on this topic. The reading assignments and blogs have been very helpful to me so far this semester. I found a lot of inspiration for the literacy story and rhetorical analysis paper using materials such as “Fish Cheeks” and “Tender At The Bone.” I also think the Harbrace manual has helped me design the best MLA format possible and has been a good tool to use when I'm not sure how to format. I think I do quality work when I blog and do my homework on time, read the materials, annotate, and blog when I'm done so I can fully understand the articles. When I blog, I blog not only about the subject of the content, but also about how I felt and interpreted the text. Included in the SCSU English Department's official goals and objectives for ENG 112: Composition II is a section intended for blogging as well as reading answers. "Blog (reading responses and other writing to be published here): 15%", I believe that my blogs are adequate and published in time to receive the full 15% of my overall grade.
