Starting our life in America from scratch was a great challenge for my family, but in return, the academic opportunities I fortunately received during of the last four years with success is definitely rewarding and worth it. From a non-English speaker to a fourth-year biochemistry major at the University of California, Los Angeles, a prestigious institution, I found my life's purpose. Moving into the next chapter of my studies, I am well prepared and committed to working and studying with a strong commitment to pharmacy. It took a lot of time, effort and willpower to make this important decision. I have dedicated myself entirely to pursuing my dream, and all I have left to do is have the opportunity to make it come true. As a biochemistry major, I have not only mastered general pre-pharmacy courses, but also possess advanced knowledge and strong analytical skills in biochemistry labs. Additionally, I trained myself to work effectively with a heavy workload under pressure while studying at UCLA. Time management and perseverance are the skills I learned that will help me progress further in higher education. From my perspective, pharmacy is not just about science. It also requires great communication skills and teamwork. Although English is my second language, I have gained a lot of experience tutoring, whether one-on-one or leading a large group of students for discussions. As such, I am confident in my ability to effectively instruct patients as a registered pharmacist. After working in a private pharmacy and a hospital outpatient pharmacy, I learned to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and had the opportunity to shadow registered pharmacists there to gain insight. deeper understanding of the profession.
