Essay / A Career For a Career in Sports Medicine - 760
Growing up, I always wanted a career in the medical field. Finding the career that suits me best is the hardest part. However, after taking different courses and practicing physical activity, I decided that I would be more successful as a sports medicine doctor. However, attempting to make a career in the physical and medical field is not an easy path. It takes a lot of hard work, determination and that will to succeed in this field. California State University East Bay does not offer a sports medicine-only specialization, although it is categorized as kinesiology as an option. Kinesiology majors have experience working in a clinical setting that requires more practice and also engaging in coursework that involves collecting and analyzing data from clinical courses. As a visual learner, doing practical work was the easiest for me because I am able to clearly visualize and analyze the material. Although some courses were challenging and provided the necessary sports medicine requirements that are beneficial, additional courses that involved more hands-on, on-field experience would have helped students gain confidence, skills in communication and the ability to effectively rehabilitate injuries. I understand that in To move from the world of undergraduate college courses to that of graduate-level higher education, it would take a lot of dedication, time, and effort. Throughout my life, I have always wanted to become a doctor and have devoted a lot of time and effort to my studies to achieve this goal. Sports medicine intrigued me throughout college because of its endless mysteries and the fact that every answer has a question...... middle of paper...... internship in a clinical setting or athletic program at a university or professional organization. Most school programs do not have the space or equipment to help students better understand the material. Finally, I urge universities to integrate courses in the kinesiology department focused on practical field work so that students can gain confidence and good communication skills that will enable them to face many challenges.
