Essay / My motivation for studying finance and accounting
Accounting was first introduced to me by a family member who was working towards becoming a chartered accountant. After explaining his role at work, I realized that it was something that interested me greatly and so I began to conduct my own research into the career path of a chartered accountant. I also understand that well-developed interpersonal skills are crucial in the field of finance and accounting to ensure that one can work successfully in a team and interact with clients, as well as establish profitable relationships when required. However, I gained experience communicating with colleagues and clients by working in several jobs from the age of 14 until now. At age 14, I started coaching gymnastics, trampoline, and cheerleading. This role required me to lead a group of athletes, helping them improve, grow and succeed in their sport, and provided a great foundation for me to further develop my interpersonal skills. Additionally, I have been involved in a variety of activities throughout the years, including athletics, trampoline and gymnastics, enjoying the challenges and social aspects that come with sport. I was a competitive cheerleader for 5 years (from 2013 to 2018) and managed to win numerous regional, national and international championship titles with my team.
