Essay / Photography: Changing the World - 1473
Photography has become part of our daily lives, whether we notice it or not. Even though photography is not that important to some people, people should know about photography and its history. It allows us to see beyond what our eyes can see and has changed the world. So how has photography changed the world? Photography has changed the world in many ways. Everyone knows the phrase: “A picture is worth a thousand words”. Images can bring pain, joy, sadness and anger into the world. If photography suddenly disappeared from the face of the earth, we would be no different from a blind person. Since the ability to capture and image was discovered, we have opened our eyes to what the world really is. In the 1700s and 1800s, people were very sheltered in their region without even caring about the situation in the world. Photos allowed us to see beyond our eyes. In other words, we are not able to see things that we might never have seen otherwise. Photography, including cinema, has allowed us to see the shocking photos of starving children in Africa and Central America, the beautiful images of mountains and forests in distant countries. and exotic animals. Of course, we will continue to hear and read about it, but nothing is better than seeing it. Photography has opened the world to everyone. What did the photograph capture? Photography has captured every aspect of life. Its beauty has been frozen in time. It shattered little memories that otherwise would have been forgotten. Lots of summer campsites, kids playing in freshly fallen snow, a dad raking leaves into five-foot-high piles, etc. The cameras also captured life-changing events. There has been more than one event in history that changed the entire world.
