Essay / Observing the sun, surviving outside the sun: is it possible...
Sun gazing is the practice of looking at the sun for nourishment or as a spiritual practice. This is a Native American tradition, but it has also appeared in many cultures, dating as far back as the ancient Egyptians, ancient yogis, and even the early Aztecs, Incas, and perhaps the Mayans. It is believed to be a method of healing, curing physical and mental illnesses. Sun Gazing gurus have even claimed that it can lead to supernatural powers and immortality, and that people who gaze at the sun long enough can become Indians, meaning they will no longer need to eat to survive. Research has shown that when direct sunlight hits the eyes, it passes through the hypothalamic retinal tract and continues to the brain, stimulating the pineal gland. The pineal gland secretes melatonin and serotonin, two hormones that regulate sleep and wake cycles and positive thinking (feeling of happiness, etc.). Melatonin is also a powerful antioxidant that slows the effects of aging. The pineal gland shrinks and calcifies as we age due to fluoride, toxins and electromagnetic pollution. Gazing at the sun has been shown to enlarge the size of this gland. The proof is in an Indian man in his sixties named Hira Ratan Manek. He started Sun Gazing after his retirement in 1992. When his brain, pineal gland and retina were observed by a scientific/medical team led by Dr. Andrew B. Newberg, they found that the gray cells in Hira's brain regenerate. The neurons in his brain would be active instead of dying. His pineal gland was also expanding instead of shrinking. Typically, the pineal gland begins to shrink after the mid-fifties; the average size being approximately 6 x 6 mm. Hira measures an astonishing 8 x 11mm! Other Sun Gaz...... middle of paper ......nd. Walking barefoot stimulates the glands in your toes, while being enhanced by the warmth of the earth and the sunlight that shines on your body, creating a magnetic field that helps recharge you as the sun penetrates your body. Walk 45 minutes every day, at least 6 days a week for a year, and you won't need food. After a year, you can stop walking barefoot; only needing a recharge from the sun every few days for a few minutes at a time. You may decide to continue walking barefoot to strengthen your immune system, as well as to increase your memory and intelligence. The more you continue to do this, the more active your pineal gland will be. To learn more about the pineal gland and what it is capable of, click here.
