  • Essay / Engineering Student Entry Letter for Masters Program

I graduated in January 2014 from Pakistan Navy Engineering College which is recognized as the best institute in Pakistan as it is the very first institute Pakistan to have obtained ISO certification and to be a constituent college. from the National University of Science and Technology. It is Pakistan's top ranked university in engineering as well as all other disciplines of study according to the QS World University Rankings. Now I am considering admission to a master's program to continue seeking knowledge. My focus was drawn to energy engineering because of its versatility, interdisciplinary nature, and necessity in my country. Power crisis in Pakistan is one of the biggest problems facing Pakistan these days. So I made it my goal to do something in the electricity sector and be able to help provide people with clean, cheap energy. Machines have always fascinated me since my childhood. I have always loved learning science subjects and projects and have earned many appreciations and certificates for my commendable work on projects. I felt that pursuing my passion as a career would allow me to further develop my skills. Engineering not only allows me to study new technologies, but it also gives me the opportunity to develop myself and focus on my true interest. I am proliferating my engineering skills thanks to my internship experiences that I have completed in three major industries. My first internship was at Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works where I gained experience in repair and maintenance (corrective and planned) of marine machinery and equipment including diesel engines and generators . There I was also able to experience the manufacturing of the Chinese F-22 P class ship built for the Pakistan Navy. My second internship was at K-Electric (formerly KESC) Bin Qasim Thermal Power Plan...... middle of paper ......ons. Watching science programs on television is my favorite pastime. I am sure that contact with the brilliant people at your faculty will be the most valuable part of my education. In all sincerity, I consider my admission to the university not only a great honor, but also a privilege accompanied by responsibilities. I will work hard to maintain and strengthen the reputation of such a good university. It is up to you to decide whether I will have this honor, but if I do, I will spare no effort to justify it. I am applying to TUM to fulfill my interest in research and my goal of serving my country. If selected, it will give me the opportunity to receive quality education and benefit from excellent research facilities under the supervision and guidance of eminent faculty members and I am sure that I will be able to prove that my selection at TUM was a good decision..
