People are broadcasting their most intimate information online, much of which should be private and would have been just a few years ago. The spiritual discipline of secrecy involves keeping some of our actions personal and private. This action is intended to help develop reliability. And this works against spiritual pride. In the Bible, Jesus highlights three things in the Sermon on the Mount that require secrecy: giving, prayer, and fasting (Matthew 5-7).
