    When you read a text, you usually get an image of some sort in your head to help you understand. This aspect is called imagery; language that appeals to one or more senses. For example, if you read a story about cavemen and it talks about their cave in vivid detail, then you will probably pick up on an image subconsciously. This is a good thing, it will help you imagine the story that is really happening and will improve your understanding. The stories in this selection include some about farewells and even great disastrous storms. You may understand why it is beneficial to read with pictures.
