Eisenhower in 1944. Eisenhower was referring to America in this quote and how they came together, from supporting children and women at home to men fighting the war abroad. America demonstrated loyalty to its country throughout World War II, from the home front to the battlefield, achieving prestigious effects on America by winning this devastating war. Although the front line of the battle is more well known, it was the home front during World War II that kept the men strong. It all started on the home front, leading the United States into World War II when Japan attacked the Pearl Harbor naval base in Hawaii on December 7, 1941. It was a sunny Sunday morning on the peaceful twenty-year-old naval base. -two acres when the unsuspected Japanese Navy and Air Force targeted American battleships, aircraft carriers, and ninety-two ships on the base. The surprise attack occurred at 7:55 a.m. when three hundred and sixty Japanese warplanes and thirty-three warships destroyed one hundred and seventy American aircraft, eighteen. From 1941, when the United States entered the war, until 1945, when it ended the war, American citizens remained loyal and weathered the hardships of World War II, earning the title of "victor ". With this victory, the United States of America suffered losses in death and suffering that society will always remember. The men, women and children who changed America forever during World War II will now and forever hold a special place in America's heart. And we will remember as the “greatest
