A swan is elegant. Who knows what she's thinking? She sleeps in her sparkling body of water, her head tucked under her wing. Sometimes she sleeps on the ground for days to take care of her eggs. Outdoors, she finds roots, tubers, stems and leaves, browsing more plants for her mate and often taking the detritus home. Calm to cautious, she eats her food slowly, either sharing some with others or quietly chewing plants on her own. A photographer avoided abandoning a swan that was trying to drown another swan, the women managed to help the poor swan, and so she moved closer to the two, with the attacking swan surrounding her, and gently chased her away like a kite blown by the wind. .I've been reading about swans recently because I saw one a few years ago. I chased a swan that was looking at me and we exchanged a long silence. Ten minutes from my house, through the little shops and through the oak trees, is Lake Merritt, an amazing piece of land, where I like to go looking for little creatures. and examine their lifestyle. Lake Merritt is also called Lake Merritt; it covers a thousand acres of wetlands near Children's Fairyland with a six hundred foot outlet and a three point five mile walking and jogging trail. In winter, migratory ducks and geese fly high in the dark skies under the bright stars; Across miles, they resemble the sensation itself, beating with the eagerness of nature. Now, in summer, pelicans and Caspian terns are present. Silk trees have flowered and spread to form a garden that is solid ground for sedentary herons and unstable boundaries for clams, shrimp and crabs. So I walked past Children's Fairyland, through the Lake Merritt Gardens and happily walked the little path through the oaks and daisies...... middle of paper ...... the main thing is to follow one's calling in a distinct, positive and pure way, to locate the most ideal and creative place and to tune into that pulse. It's about persevering, not giving up. A swan gives up nothing; a swan lives as it strives to do, yielding at every moment to the perfect freedom of happiness. I think it would be remarkable, motivating and inspiring, to hold on to your one goal and not let go, to swim great lengths. to find that special someone. So even death, where you go no matter what you do, cannot separate you. Work for it and let it work you even over your head, until your brain explodes and shuts down; let your body soak up a calm body of water and let your heart release and disperse, relaxed in the water, in lakes and ponds, delicately, peacefully, from any height, from as high as the birds fly..
